Here at Devon International Group, we take our health seriously.  We also understand the struggle in finding workouts that keep you not only interested, but motivated as well.  Since we are headquartered near Philadelphia, we have made a list of fun options that are found around here.  Most of these activities aren’t limited to this area, so if you don’t live in Philadelphia but are interested, a simple internet search should provide you with similar options.

You may not have heard of some of these workouts since many of these workouts are newly increasing in popularity, but we have the answers for you.  Read on to find out what’s the next thing to mark on your calendar.


Paddleboard yoga→
 For those who enjoy yoga, but are getting bored of the mat, SUP (Stand-Up Paddleboard) Yoga is a neat way to combine the classic moves of yoga with a greater challenge in balancing, all while enjoying nature.  It seems a bit intimidating, but don’t fret because there are classes offered for all levels right on the Schuylkill River.  Something to keep in mind about SUP Yoga is that this is on the water, so there is a chance you may have to swim if you fall in.  To see a video of Paddleboard Yoga, click here.

Aerial yoga→ If water isn’t your thing, but you’re looking for some new yoga experiences, try yoga while suspended in the air.  Aerial yoga is done in a suspended silk hammock and combines traditional yoga with aerial acrobatics.  Similar to SUP Yoga, anyone can do this whether you are a first-timer or an advanced yogi.  Check out his video showing different positions and levels for Aerial Yoga.

Circus workouts→ The circus-themed fitness class teaches use of equipment such as static trapeze, silks, ropes, and several others.  The outcomes are improvement in strength and muscle control, flexibility, and balance.  Circus workouts are perfect for those who want to become a fitness fanatic but haven’t found their niche yet.  This video shows how a class is at the Philadelphia School of Circus Acts

Parkour→ This is a method of physical training that recently has grown in popularity.  You’ve seen parkour in action movies, and now you can perfect the moves yourself.  It is defined as the ability to overcome obstacles and moving rapidly through an area by running, jumping and climbing.  You’re sure to get a full-body workout when practicing parkour at HFS Parkour in Philly.

Buti→ Is a new form of yoga specifically for women that mixes power yoga, tribal dance and plyometrics.  You will experience high intensity sure to make you sweat, while having fun doing it.  It will really help with this workout if you are already comfortable with yoga and high intensity workouts.  It is important to note that Buti is not for those who are shy! Lithe→
 Also for women, Lithe combines cheerleading, dancing and Pilates.  Currently only located in Philly, but distributing products all over, Lithe offers 40 different hour-long classes so you are sure to find something fitting for you.   They are so sure you will love it that each of the studios offer your first class for free!  The unique workouts feature weights, resistance bands, trampolines, and even socks.
