DIG commends Devon Medical on recently receiving medical device registration and approval from the Brazilian Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA–Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária) for its extriCARE® 2400 Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) pump. In April, Devon Medical received the same approval for its NPWT dressings. Together, the extriCARE® 2400 pump and the company’s NPWT dressings, make up Devon Medical’s extriCARE® NPWT system.

extriCARE and ANVISAANVISA is Brazil’s governmental regulatory agency that works to protect and promote the nation’s public health. ANVISA oversees all health products and services, including approving medical devices, drugs, and other products seeking to enter the Brazilian market. The ANVISA approval allows Devon Medical to sell its extriCARE® 2400 NPWT system and work with clinicians, in Brazil, to advance the treatment of wounds and help patients.

The extriCARE® 2400 system helps manage chronic, acute, traumatic, subacute and dehisced wounds, partial-thickness burns, diabetic and pressure ulcers, flaps, and grafts. DIG congratulates Devon Medical for receiving the ANVISA approval that will allow its portable device and anatomically fitted bandages to increase mobility for patients and decrease application time for caregivers in Brazil.
