The weather may still be cold and snowy in Philly, but that’s not stopping us at DIG from visiting our beloved city! There are plenty of things taking place in the  Philadelphia area for the brave souls who don’t mind venturing out in the weather. Here are some of our favorite upcoming events you can plan to check out. Stay warm!

March 1 - Philadelphia Craft Beer Fest

Although this technically occurs in March, this award-winning festival deserves to be put on the calendar. Located in the Navy Yard in Philly, the festival already has 57 craft breweries on the list from all over the country, and a number of local food trucks that will also be attending. General Admission tickets are $46.00 from 1:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m., and there will be free onsite parking and a free shuttle from the Broad & Pattison SEPTA stop. For more information, go to the festival’s official website.

March 1-9 - Philadelphia Flower Show

Spring is just around the corner, and the Philadelphia Horticultural Society is helping bring it early with the annual Philadelphia Flower Show. With the 2014 theme, “ARTiculture”, the Philadelphia Horticultural Society is looking to combine art and horticulture for its 185th Philadelphia Flower Show. The event will take place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center located at 12th & Arch Streets in downtown Philadelphia. Tickets are $27.00 for adults online, $32.00 at the door. We also suggest the afternoon tea (separate from the exhibition) at the Flower show. This costs an additional $28.00 per person and is by reservation only. For more information on the Philadelphia Flower Show, check out the official website.

March 16 - St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Philadelphia is the second largest of its kind in the country. With deep Irish roots throughout Philadelphia, Irish Americans and non-Irish Americans alike attend this parade to celebrate St. Patrick himself. The 2014 parade route will begin at 11:00am on 16th and JFK in downtown Philadelphia and follow Benjamin Franklin Parkway towards to Philadelphia Art Museum and along Kelly Drive. For more information, check out the official website.
